Reach your personal goals of health + wellness

Certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. Layne is passionate about helping others reach their own personal goals. Through directing, hands on coaching and support she helps assist her clients to push their limits, reach their personal bests and achieve a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Layne is an avid runner and marathon attendee, both personally and as a race director. So she not only has personal experience of what it takes to push yourself to achieve these goals, but has helped many others on their own fitness journey.

She is available to train you personally online from anywhere or will come to your home throughout the KC metro area. She has trained people from new mamas all the way to endurance athletes and ultra runners. Programing can be as simple as a Getting Started Consultation all the way to personally customized monthly training.

Five. Five trainers scoffed at my goals. Five trainers had no faith in my abilities and my determination to improve those skills.

Many more than five people laughed at my goal of 50 miles at World’s Toughest Mudder. People literally told me it wasn’t possible – people that are supposed to be about big goals.

Layne was not ever one of those people and she is the only reason I achieved my goal. From little milestone goals where I felt successful while being challenged, to help figuring out why my body was rebelling, to even some dark humor when I truly needed to get out of my own way and do what she always believed I could and prepared me to do. Her training plan was life-proof. She taught me the framework and helped me understand the purpose – something I really needed. Then, I could adjust rest days, move some miles around or swap cross-training as needed. This is a tremendous benefit to anyone who needs to make consistent progress and has a real life.

Layne is also tremendously open and available – you want to know why your knee might hurt THERE and what to do about it – she’ll email you back. Can’t figure out why you’re stalling out or even dragging – she’ll offer suggestions on what to systematically try until it gets better. Need a reminder that a crap run is just one crap run? Yep, Layne will support you and refocus your energy on WHY you started in the first place. She’s invested in the goals of those she helps – why else would she travel to Las Vegas, put on a Zebra Stripe Gum onesie, freeze a lot of the night with a clipboard tracking my times and reminding me to eat? Because I matter to her. My goals mean something to not just me but also her and they always have.

There are a lot of things I remember from 2017 World’s Toughest Mudder however 1 statement kept echoing in my head when I wanted to walk for a bit or maybe just rest, “No slower!” That’s what Layne said one lap and when I was too tired for math anymore and logic had left – her words stayed. She knew I didn’t need yelled at. She knew I didn’t need a hard push. Layne knew, because she did the work, that I needed more food and to keep moving. No slower – to sunrise. No slower – up the nasty hills. No slower right on to 50 miles in 24 hours.

Layne made my goal her goal and with that much heart invested there’s no way I could fail. Layne is HOW I reached 50 miles.
